Warm Days in Africa: QB Smith at House 22 Friday October 19, 2012

This past Friday Warm Days at House 22 with myself and guest Claude, one of the smoothest and most soulful South African DJs and something of a legend this side of the world.

Before I get to the tracklist for my mix, just a few notes:

A) Apologies for the missing episode in September, various reasons, my computer died I had no way to prepare and upload, and the cops interrupted the set at the club so the music was turned off half way, etc etc.

B) The recording is unfortunately in mono. I neglected to check the mixer setting.

C)  I rediscovered my love for the 3 hot cue buttons on the CDJ 1000, but made a slight mess on track 5 which I wasn’t prepared to share so the worst bit was edited out of the recording! Track 7 doing the same thing with Monique is unedited and is exactly how it was performed and recorded. (Gotta love those cue buttons!)

D) Sorry, the reason the Monique is filtered out in the verse, is because the club was singing along, which isn’t recorded – you had to be there
